BLAST

BLAST

We are delighted to announce that we have secured a place on the BLAST (Bringing Live Artists to Students and Teachers) programme and have been awarded a 20-hour BLAST Artist teacher fully funded by the Department of Education.

The aim of this scheme is to give pupils the opportunity to work with a professional artist on unique activities, to be planned between the artist, the teachers, and the school. The initiative supports children for the future, where skills like the ability to connect and collaborate with others, engage in creative and critical thinking and practice inclusivity at every level.

We have been partnered with dance artist, Catherine Donnelly. Catherine facilitates opportunities for children to explore movement and dance, engage with the artform and in a creative process using the body as medium.

She has already done one session in school, and she will do a further 5 sessions with the children.  The children thoroughly enjoyed the creative movement workshop which was conducted outdoors. This will be an enjoyable activity for the children for this time of the year.
