                                             Thank you!

Heritage in school

Thank you to Steffi Otto from Heritage in schools for a very interesting visit. Steffi is a qualified ecologist, environmental scientist and an accomplished craft worker. Her main areas of expertise are Irish rush- and straw craft, rope making, traditional woodwork and heritage gardening.  Steffi is an enthusiast for the use of traditional skills of Ireland. She shares her passion and knowledge through hands on, engaging workshops and games which reinforces children's learning experiences. She uses natural materials, traditional tools and techniques to make simple traditional items. Steffi showed us how to make rush rattles and hemp skipping ropes.  We all enjoyed a fun filled day with Steffi.

Science Week - Chemical reactions.

Using cabbage water to test for acids and alkaline. We also created a chemical reaction with bicarbonate of soda, citric acid and bubble bath and created great bath bombs.
